We are committed to protecting your data. In order to prevent unauthorised access or any unauthorised disclosure, to ensure the correctness of the data, and authorised use of the data, we have adopted appropriate technical and organisational procedures to protect and secure the data that we obtain online. We can nevertheless accept no responsibility for any disclosure of your data not caused by any fault of our own but due to errors made in data transfer and/or for unauthorised access by third parties beyond our control.
Protecting personal data
Where personal or business data can be entered (e-mail addresses, names, and postal addresses), such data is given by the user of his own volition. The personal data acquired through this website are used for the purposes of contract fulfilment and handling enquiries. This data will only be transferred to third parties with the express permission of the user.
Informations about cookies
EUWID employs so-called “cookies” and other technologies to recognise the client and offer personalised services. Cookies are small text files sent by WWW servers when a website is visited. The purpose of these cookies is to enhance user-friendliness, effectiveness, and security of the online offering. The cookies contain no personal data and no form of personal information so that no identification of a person is possible on the basis of the information obtained from the cookies alone. The client can use the appropriate browser settings to specify how his browser handles cookies. If the client deletes cookies or configures the browser to reject cookies, the availability of the online services might be restricted. By setting the browser functions appropriately the client can determine how his browser should handle cookies in general. If the client deletes cookies or the browser is set so that it rejects cookies, the result may be limitations to the online services. If the client activates the automatic login, a cookie is placed in which the client’s registration data are stored in order to recognise the client and provide automatic access the next time he logs in. Once automatic login has been activated, the client can deactivate the function at any time.
If the client uses the contact form to send us an enquiry, we will store both the details you give and the contact data you state in the form in order to attend to your enquiry and for dealing with questions that might arise at a later date. We will not disclose this information to third parties without the client’s explicit permission.
Access data is stored in a log file on our servers every time access is given to our website. This dataset comprises the client’s IP address (anonymized in accordance with current legislation, i.e. parts of the IP address are removed to prevent it from being related unambiguously to a particular source), date and time of the request, the name of the requested file, the transferred volume of data and the data transfer status, a description of the used web browser and operating system, and the referrer URL. We will erase the data promptly as soon as the purpose of gathering and storing the data is no longer relevant. The data is evaluated solely for statistical purposes and without any reference to individuals.
Privacy statement Matomo
The client can generally visit EUWID’s websites without notifying EUWID of his identity. EUWID websites use Matomo (https://matomo.org), and open-source web analysis service. Data is gathered and stored for marketing and optimisation purposes with the aid of Matomo technology. EUWID only saves the name of the internet provider, the website from which the client has visited EUWID’s website, and the name of the requested file. This information is analysed for statistical purposes at most and helps to improve EUWID’s services. In doing so, the client retains his anonymity as an individual user. Cookies can be used for this purpose. Data gathered using Matomo technologies is not used to reveal the personal identity of visitors to EUWID’s website or merged with personal data pertaining to the bearer of the pseudonym unless agreed to separately by the person concerned.
The IP address is abbreviated when being processed (“AnonymizeIP-Plugin”), i.e. parts of the IP address are removed in order to prevent it from being related unabiguously to a particular source.
The information the cookie generates relating to the use of the website is not disclosed to third parties. The client can prevent the cookies from being installed using the appropriate browser settings; we must point out, however, that in this case the functions of the website might not be able to be used in full.
If the client does not consent to the storage and use of his data, he can deactivate such storage and use here. In this case an opt-out cookie is installed in the client’s browser which prevents Piwik from storing usage data. If the client deletes cookies, the Piwik opt-out cookie is deleted as well. The opt-out cookie must be reactivated the next time the client visits our website.
Registering email newsletters
Personal data is only gathered when the client voluntarily discloses this information for the purpose of opening a customer account or when registering for the EUWID email newsletter. This data will only be used for managing the client’s contracts and processing his enquiries unless he gives explicit permission to the contrary. After completion of the contract and payment of the purchase price in full, the client’s data will be stored in accordance with tax and trade record-keeping legislation but erased upon expiry of the relevant periods unless the client has given explicit permission for further use of his data. The email address given for conclusion of the contract will be used exclusively for EUWID’s own advertising purposes in the form of the newsletter insofar as the client has given explicit permission to do so by activating “Subscribe to newsletter”. For this purpose, the client’s email address will be conveyed the service provider Newsletter2Go GmbH, Nürnberger Straße 8, 10787 Berlin, who officially produces and dispatches the newsletter on EUWID’s behalf. Newsletter2Go uses the data exclusively for the aforementioned purpose with due regard for the legitimate interests of the client. Newsletter2Go does not disclose this personal data to third parties. The client can cancel the newsletter at any time by a link in the newsletter. From that moment of the cancellation the newsletter will not be sended again to this address.
Data transfer for a contractual relationship
If the client is requested to give personal data for the purposes of fulfilling a contract or when opening an account, they will only be used for performance of the contract and dealing with his enquiry unless explicit consent is given. The email address given upon conclusion of the contract is stored in accordance with the mandatory storage periods specified in tax and commercial legislation upon performance of the contract and payment of the full purchase price. It is erased, however, once these periods have expired unless the client has given his exlicit consent to further use of his data.
