Providing neutral, incisive and comprehensive coverage of German and international market news to players in the industry has been our mission since 1926. And this is why decision-makers today more than ever depend on EUWID as a reliable source of information.
EUWID initially started as a clipping service that condensed industry-specific news to an easily readable length and collated it in a printed publication. Focusing on the essential – this remains our editorial motto to this day.

Over the years, we have launched specialised news services for various sectors.

The first EUWID appears in Berlin: Founder Dr. Herbert Strencioch publishes the first news for the wood industry.

EUWID celebrates the 75th anniversary of its founding at a festive ceremony with employees and guests of honour in Gernsbach. At the event, speeches are given by Dr. Casimir Katz and Professor Michael Becker from the forestry faculty at the University of Freiburg as well as Dr. Georg Holzhey, Chairman of the German Pulp and Paper Association (VDP).

Managing Director Dr. Casimir Katz celebrates his 80th birthday. Publication of his novel, “Die Holzbarone” [The Lumber Barons], a family saga about the sawmill and timber industry in the Murg valley, which is filmed for television in 2012.
